Periodontal Treatment
At Bay Road Dental we take the time to carefully examine and clean your teeth to prevent gum disease, otherwise known as periodontitis. If plaque and tartar are left to build up this leads to inflammation and irreversible damage to the surrounding gums and bone that anchors the teeth. Symptoms include bleeding gums, loose teeth, a bad mouth taste, bad breath, infection and pain.
At Bay Road Dental we use the latest treatments to gently scale and clean your teeth, and will advise you on the best oral hygiene regime to maximise your dental health.
To find out more about scale and cleaning, periodontitis and how we can help or book an appointment, please contact us today.

X-rays
Taking X-rays are vital to see what’s happening below the surface of your teeth and gums before it causes problems. At Bay Road Dental we recommend regular X-rays, but will work with your personal requirements.
We do have the latest digital radiography available, which can significantly reduce the level of radiation from traditional dental X-rays.To discuss the role of dental X-rays for yourself or your family or to book an appointment, please contact us today.

Remineralisation treatment
To prevent dental decay in the early stages, remineralisation can help. Our teeth are made up of a strong, mineralised substructure that includes calcium and phosphate.
Dental decay (known as dental caries) takes place when food combines with bacteria in our mouth to produce acid. This acid can erode the protective enamel tooth structure and if left untreated leads to cavities, pain and even infections know as a dental abscess.
At Bay Road Dental, treatment options available are special toothpastes or varnishes containing calcium, phosphate and even fluoride.
If you would like to know more about remineralisation or book an appointment, please contact us today.

Fissure Sealants
A fissure sealant ‘coats’ the back teeth in a protective layer over the pits and grooves to stop dental decay before it can start. At Bay Road Dental we recommend fissure sealants for children who have a higher risk of dental decay as their teeth develop.
If you would like to enquire more about the value of fissure sealants or book a consult, please contact us today.
